SELLERS

July 2010.

SELLERS:

Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate conducted a survey earlier this year, designed to identify factors affecting today’s home buying decisions. It drew responses from among those across the country who are searching or saving for a new home, or who recently purchased a new home.

Of those respondents who are looking for, or considering buying, a home, nearly two-thirds (63%) believe it is a “buyer’s market,” more than half (54%) feel that mortgage rates are affordable, and 70 percent indicate that there are affordable homes on the market. Just about half (49%) feel that the economy gives them the ability to negotiate more than usual. However, only 39 percent surveyed said they had planned to take advantage of the tax credit before it expired on April 30, 2010. This can be useful info when deciding on whether to put your home on the market now or wait til conditions change with our economy.

I can keep you updated with the latest data so that you can make the best financial decision possible for you and your family. Email me at john@movetonyack.com for my quarterly newsletter. Start by evaluating the condition of your home and make those necessary repairs now if you want to get top dollar on your home. Buyers will pay more for a home that needs very little done to it.
